About

I’m a thinker, innovator, disruptor, image consultant, applied economist, sustainability policy analyst and trouble shooter. I have worked in public and private enterprise, I often think about efficiency and other ways to do what is in front of me. I see opportunities and possibility because I’m an observer. These may create savings, efficiency and/or new ways to do things. I’m a  ‘connector’ listening and observing people and businesses and drawing unexpected connections for people to explore. When I’m not connecting , I’m on my bicycle, or cutting up or sewing and remaking my next outfit from used clothes.

I did some MBA units in 2005 and Entrepreneurship was one of these, it reminded me of what I’ve been doing all my life, most recently, airbnb which has created both revenue and amazing connections. I like the business model as it creates revenue for home owners and brings travelers into the local community to share and learn the best the area has to offer. I’m also enjoying the Lean start-up community in Sydney and Canberra, and was part of a team ‘ Lean Connect’ that won a LSM event in 2012 at Fishburners in Sydney. Canberra is kicking on with setting up a co-working space in March 2013 to create both a focal point to connect and an affordable desk to support entrepreneurs, we’re at Childers St on the edge of the ANU precinct and right next door to the Street Theatre.

Most recently I attended the Do Lectures and was part of the winning team that was solving a global problem of how to keep and support youth in country areas and how to encourage those to return who have gathered amazing skills, knowledge and experience and they can be tomorrows mentors.
